Companies call on the competences of ENSAIT textile student engineers to carry out industrial projects, innovation or research projects for periods of 2 months to one year. Each year over 50 students carry out an internship or innovation and industrial projects abroad, either in a multinational or in SMEs over the five continents, Europe, Asia, Africa, America and Australia. It implies creating a transatlantic network between textile Universities in Europe and the USA as well as textile companies from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. In Europe ENSAIT acts as coordinator of a Consortium composed of UPC from Barcelona, Spain, RWTH from Aachen, Germany, and ENSAIT, as well as Clubtex, a club of industrialists working in technical textiles. In the USA, the partners are North Carolina State University, Philadelphia University and Massachussetts University in Dartmouth. Most of them come from Special Preparatory Schools, and are admitted after the National Entrance Competitive Examinations to "Grandes Ecoles".
