The International Relations Office at the ENSAIT offers support to both incoming foreign students and to ENSAIT students going abroad. It’s role is to facilitate both incoming and outgoing mobilities and create partnerships with leading universities, research laboratories and companies worldwide.
Our objective is to create long-lasting international networks in order to enhance the success of ENSAIT student engineers in their future career.

At an international level, ENSAIT is a member of different networks:

AUTEX ( Association for Universities of Textiles),

TTN ( Transatlantic Textile Network),

AUF (Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie), 'enseignement supérieur et de recherche

SOCRATES-ERASMUS,

SEFI (European Society For Engineering Education) .

Moreover, international projects such as :

Duo France et PRA (Research programmes with Asia)

Asia Link (A Research project with China, India and Portugal )

Ecos Nord Programme with Colombia,

Training Engineering in the Maghreb region,

ensure an extension of our networks in the fields of education, research and industrial partnerships.

The ENSAIT also provides a complete range of services to international students (accommodation, tourism and administrative procedures…) in partnership with national organizations such as :

n+i

Edufrance

Le Pôle Universitaire Européen de Lille Nord-Pas de Calais

An Industrial Network

Our present network comprises over 300 companies worldwide. Companies call on the competences of ENSAIT textile student engineers to carry out industrial projects, innovation or research projects for periods of 2 months to one year.
Each year over 50 students carry out an internship or innovation and industrial projects abroad, either in a multinational or in SMEs over the five continents, Europe, Asia, Africa, America and Australia.
Groups like KOSA, CIBA, CLARIANT, DECATHLON, LEVI STRAUSS propose projects to ENSAIT student engineers.

Autex (Association for Universities of Textiles)

http://autex2005.fs.uni-mb.si

ENSAIT has been a member of AUTEX since 1998. The Association groups 35 European Universities which develop fundamental and applied research in textiles, based on the requirements of industry.
It aims at developing scientific exchanges between the different sectors in textiles, clothing and distribution, and favouring transnational projects within the EU.

Transatlantic Textile Network (TTN)

http://www.ita.rwth-aachen.de/ttn/ttn.html

ENSAIT has built a relationship with the USA through an action called TTN, funded by the European Commission. It implies creating a transatlantic network between textile Universities in Europe and the USA as well as textile companies from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. In Europe ENSAIT acts as coordinator of a Consortium composed of UPC from Barcelona, Spain, RWTH from Aachen, Germany, and ENSAIT, as well as Clubtex, a club of industrialists working in technical textiles. In the USA, the partners are North Carolina State University, Philadelphia University and
Massachussetts University in Dartmouth.
This transatlantic exchange, which includes technical, cultural,
linguistic, and organisational aspects, allows students to have a better understanding of global textile industries and this will prepare them to meet the needs of the textile, clothing and distribution sectors in Europe and further afield.

AUF (Agence Universitaire de la francophonie)

http://199.84.140.12/programmes/

L’ENSAIT is also member a AUF (Association of French-speaking universities) which regroups 400 higher education and research worldwide institutes. The AUF favours specific programs to promote exchange of students and teachers and the use of French language, etc…

SOCRATES-ERASMUS

http://www.socrates-leonardo.fr/index.php

The ENSAIT has established an ERASMUS-SOCRATES network with 22 European universities via the SOCRATES programme. Bilateral agreements between ENSAIT and partner universities, allow student (SM) and teachers mobilities(TS).

SEFI (EUROPEEN SOCIETY FOR ENGINEERING EDUCATION)

http://www.ntb.ch/SEFI/Index.html

The ENSAIT is member of the SEFI (EUROPEEN SOCIETY FOR ENGINEERING EDUCATION). Founded in 1973 as a non-profit organisation, SEFI is presently the largest network of higher engineering institutions and individuals involved in engineering education in Europe. Through its numerous and various activities, SEFI :
-	contributes to the development and improvement of the position of engineering education and engineering professionals in society,
- provides appropriate services and information about engineering education, acts as a link between its members and other societies and international bodies,
-	improves exchange and cooperation between, teachers, researchers, students, practising engineers and between various types of educational institutions in the field of engineering.
-	contributes to the recruitment of promising students into engineering education and to promote the development of the European dimension in higher engineering curricula also constitutes one of SEFI's objectives.

The “n+i” network

http://www.nplusi.com/public/france/en/

The ENSAIT is member of the “n+i” network which groups 54 French Engineering Institutes as well as partner French companies, with the aim of training future engineers with international skills.
The “n+i” network is intended for foreign students who have completed at least 4 years of postsecondary education in engineering (bachelor’s degree: B.Tech, B.Eng, B.Sc, B.Phil or equivalent) and who seek additional training in France, in French after a period of linguistic, cultural and methodological adaptation, with a view to practicing engineering on an international scale.
The network also helps engineering students enrolled in French partner institutions to find a 6–12 month educational program or internship or 18–24 month master’s program abroad.

Le Pôle Universitaire Européen de Lille Nord-Pas de Calais

http://www.poleuniv-lille-npdc.fr

The ENSAIT works in close collaboration with “Pôle universitaire européen de Lille”, which aims at promoting the potential of higher education and research in the Nord Pas-de Calais Region. One of its goals is to promote international relations by developing exchange and cooperation between teachers, researchers and students, and by improving the living and /or studying conditions of the foreign students, teachers and researchers in the region.

Edufrance

http://www.edufrance.fr/en/

ENSAIT is also member of the EDUFRANCE organization. EDUFRANCE was created by the Ministries of Education and of Foreign Affairs in order to promote French higher Education worldwide, and to improve the living and studying conditions of international students in France. It also provides information on the complete panel of educational training and services available in FRANCE. ENSAIT engineers have a high scientific level and are general practitioner engineers initiated to the realities of an economic globalisation and endowed with real aptitudes for innovation.

Students entering ENSAIT possess a two year undergraduate Scientific and/or Technological University qualification (Bac+2). Most of them come from Special Preparatory Schools, and are admitted after the National Entrance Competitive Examinations to "Grandes Ecoles". At the ENSAIT they follow an additional three year engineering training programme, either a traditional training or an alternating education, which develops in the future engineer a triple culture :

a sound and diversified scientific culture

a Social Sciences Culture focussing on languages and communication

a textile technology culture which provide graduates with innovative capacities and prepares them for international challenges.

Alternating Education and Industrial Placements, in Europe and all around the world, as well as Research works within the GEMTEX laboratory, make the ENSAIT a key factor for the expansion of textile related jobs/carriers opportunities.
